About Me

So you've been reading my blog (thank you) and you've decided to find out a bit more about me, hoping that the opinions herein are not the ravings of a mad man.  Well read on and be pleasantly relieved…

Who Am I?

My name is Damien Fitzpatrick and I am:

I'm guessing you haven't come here for the fish though.

What's My Business?

I love being able to deliver solutions to problems.  At Ephox, its my job to ensure that our software delivers the best solutions to the challenges faced by people in getting their content online.  As part of that I've probably looked at editors (both online and offline) more closely than most people would care to.  I've also looked at more web content management systems, wikis, blogs and other content systems than many others around.  Finally, I've had the opportunity to meet many interesting people from vendors and clients to do with all things web and web 2.0 and I hope I can continue to do so.  I'm always interested in hearing new perspectives, new insights and learning more about how I can help you.

On a more general level I'm also interested in how business works, particularly technology business.  The thrill of being in the technology area is that every day things are changing, new discoveries are being made and adapted in new ways.

I see various postings since 2004 whether or not EditLive will run under the Mac version of Firefox (now 3.0). Is the answer it will not run under the Mac version of Firefox 3.0?

Also, could EditLive run under Oracle Collaborative Suite?

  2. Damien says:

EditLive! will definitely run with Firefox on the Mac, this includes Firefox 3.0. These are fully supported platforms for EditLive!.

As for the Oracle Collaborative Suite, the only out-of-the-box integration with Oracle software thus far is with Oracle Universal Content Management courtesy of a previous integration performed by Stellent and now acquired by Oracle. Oracle manages this integration.

That said, EditLive! can be integrated with any web app via some simple JavaScript and a whole variety of Java applications. While we don’t have an out-of-the-box integration available we’d be happy to support you in any integration development you may undertake.
